Water Parks Near Alicante

It is worth noting that there is no water park directly in the city of Alicante. However, there are two major ones nearby. They are located in Benidorm and Torrevieja — two popular resorts on the Costa Blanca coast (Spain). The first is approximately 45 km away (about 35–50 minutes by car), and the second is 35 km south of Alicante (around 40 minutes by car).

Aqualandia Water Park

Aqualandia is the largest and most famous water park in the province. It is located near the Mundomar animal park (which you can visit as part of a combined trip) in Benidorm. It is the oldest water park in the area, built in 1985 on the territory of the Sierra Helada Natural Park. Today, the park covers about 150,000 square meters. There are attractions for both adults and children.

For little ones, there are two large shallow pools with slides, fountains, and water guns inside. Children are especially impressed by the elephant statues that look as if they have wandered into the pool to drink. The park administration notes that even in the children’s water areas, kids under 6 must be supervised by adults.

Older children can enjoy swimming with their parents in the “Niagara” pool among the rocks or splash around in the “Geyser” pool, or experience a massage shower in the “Grand Jacuzzi” area. To see the entire territory, you can slowly float down the Amazon attraction (an imitation of a real river).

Another fun attraction loved by both adults and children is the wave pool. In total, there are about 15–20 different water attractions, including extreme slides. For brave little visitors, the water park offers the Mini-Zig-Zag or the team Splash slide. Adults and teenagers who are not afraid can try the Verti-Go — an almost vertical free-fall slide.

Several cafés operate on the premises, mainly offering fast food. There are many kiosks with drinks and ice cream. In the park area, there are spots for your own picnics.

The water park operates from May to September, opening hours are 10:00 to 19:00 (sometimes until 20:00). Approximate ticket prices: up to €40 for adults, €30 for children. Kids under 4 enter free. It is best to buy tickets online in advance. You can find detailed information on the official website.

You can get there by private car or public transport. By car — take the AP-7 highway north towards Valencia. There is parking near the water park. If you take a taxi, expect to pay €70–90. A more budget-friendly option is the ALSA bus to Benidorm (a bit over an hour, €8–14). At the bus station, change to local bus line 1 or 11, which will take you to the water park in another 10–15 minutes.

Flamingo Aqua Park

Flamingo Aqua Park in Torrevieja is considered a budget-friendly water park for the whole family. It is significantly smaller than Aqualandia, but very cozy with very reasonable prices. There are no long queues for the slides, and there is plenty of free parking nearby.

In addition to traditional slides, there is a shallow and safe pool with many fountains and mushroom-shaped water features. The children’s play area has benches and sun loungers. Although the park is mainly oriented towards young visitors, adults can also find entertainment — several fairly steep slides and a deep pool. There is a small cozy café on site that serves decent food (open from 12:30 to 16:00).

Ticket prices: adults €16–18, children €14–15, kids under a certain height/age enter free. The park is open from 11:30 to 18:00.

The most convenient way to get here from Alicante is by car via the CV-905/N-332 road. It’s ideal if you have a rental car. A taxi will be more expensive (€120–150). A cheaper option is to take a bus to Torrevieja (regular services from Alicante, about 1.5 hours, €5–7). In Torrevieja, change to the city bus (lines B or G) and ride to the La Siesta stop.

If you get a bit tired of water activities, the next day you can plan a trip to the Alicante safari park, where you can see wild animals in their natural habitat, or simply go to the beach in Alicante.
